Revisiting Angela Dupont and Benjamin Hall’s Non-Traditional Nuptials

If your original wedding or reception venue is temporarily closed due to COVID-19, or if you had to cancel and re-book and are now facing a long waitlist, think outside the box for venues and entertainment. We love how this couple, whose story originally ran in our Spring/Summer 2015 issue, chose a Fort Worth tamale house for their wedding and reception venue, and it was hot!

There is an outdoor mural on Magnolia Street in Fort Worth that says “Love the…Fort Worth…the Love” where passers-by often pose for photos. Angela Dupont and Benjamin Hall were definitely feeling the love when they chose to hold their wedding ceremony in June 2014 nearby at Hot Damn, Tamales in Fort Worth. The restaurant’s bright, colorful exterior was the perfect backdrop for Dupont’s emerald green dress and the green tie and pocket square on Benjamin’s tuxedo. Dupont, a wedding planner, wanted something completely different for her own wedding. The ceremony took place after dinner, there was no traditional cake-cutting or grand march, and no bridal party. We love the cherry-topped chocolate cupcakes, a menu full of tamale options, sketch artist, and jaw-dropping getaway dress.
